Jennifer Eden has a unique and diverse background, giving her deep insight into the subject of self-defense. She is first and foremost a martial artist, currently holding a 3rd degree black belt in Vadha Kempo Karate and a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. In addition, she has studied various other fighting styles such as MMA, boxing, kickboxing and Krav Maga. Being a very physically petite woman, who primarily trains with men, she has focused her efforts on using techniques that work for a smaller, weaker individual against a larger, stronger opponent. Therefore, any knowledge she offers women can be considered literally battle tested.
While Jennifer relies on her martial arts training for much of her self-defense course, she acknowledges full well that physical combat is but one necessary component. Jennifer is also a certified yoga instructor and avid practitioner. She believes deeply in the benefits of meditation and controlled breathing, as well as the practice of maintaining presence and situational awareness. Her course acknowledges the importance of avoiding a situation before having to physically defend oneself, and promotes the adherence of our innate intuitive wisdom. All of which intends to empower the women she teaches.
In addition, Jennifer holds a Masters degree in Psychology. Through her education she has gained valuable insight into integral elements that have informed this program. For instance, understanding psychological and physiological fear responses, as well as statistical insights into the methods and motives of stereotypical assailants. These diverse paths are essentially that of mind, body and spirit. Jennifer has given respect to all aspects of this trinity, culminating in a complete holistic self-defense course.
